LISTEN

While there has not been much written about how to properly recite Ezra Pound's "In a Station of the Metro," some people have explored how to read the poem on personal blogs. Because of this, I wanted to highlight different possible readings of the poem. I included a recording of my own interpretation of how to read aloud the poem, along with two more readings based on two different blog posts about the poem.

Additionally, in the poem, Pound is describing a moment in the underground metro of Paris, so enjoy some sounds of a train station in Paris!

My Interpretation

When reciting the poem, I paid particular attention to the gaps between certain words from the original publication, adding in a slight pause.
